VOLLEYBALL SEASON KICKS OFF THIS PAST WEEKEND
TCCAA Volleyball started this past weekend with four of the conference teams getting a start on the new season. Defending region champions and the nationally 13th ranked Lady Senators of Walters State will their season begin this Tuesday in a tri match against Patrick Henry and Richard Bland in Richmond, Virginia.
Roane State had the best start to the season as they went 3-1 in their E2 Raider Classic. They lost their first match to Wallace State-Hanceville 3-1, but came back to win their next 3 matches with wins over Southern Union 3-2, Bevill State by a 3-0 socre, and finally a 3-0 win over Southwest Virginia.
Chattanooga took two losses in a tri match at Itawamba on Saturday as they lost to Calhoun by a 3-0 score and dropped a 3-2 match to Itawamba. Pellissippi State and Cleveland State both took single losses on the road as the Panthers fell to Gadsden by a 3-1 score while the Cougars fell to Snead by a 3-0 final.
