LADY SENATORS EARN #1 SEED FOR UPCOMING REGION VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
The Walters State volleyball team recently earned the #1 seed for the TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Tournament next week at Cleveland State with a match win over Chattanooga State. Both squads still have one conference match, but Walters holds the tiebreaker by virtue of a 2-0 record against Chattanooga this season.
The Lady Senators currently stand at 6-1 in conference play with an overall record of 20-7 this year. They will play Cleveland State in the first semi next Friday, October 27, with a start time of 4:30pm EST. Chattanooga will take on Roane in the other semi with a start time of approximately 6:30pm EST.
Chattanooga will be the #2 seed in the tournament with a 5-2 conference record and 11-6 overall. Roane (#3 seed) stands at 5-3 in conference play with an overall record of 20-6. Cleveland Stateis the fourth seed with a 1-6 record with a 4-16 overall record. Pellissippi State in their first season of play, is 1-6 in conference and 1-8 in overall play in their probation year as a first year program.
The winners of the semis will advance to play in their championship match at 1:00pm EST on Saturday, October 28. The champion will advance to the Southeast B District Championship to be hosted by the Region X Champion the week of November 3-5.
