ROANE STATE VOLLEYBALL STANDS AT 12-0; RECEIVING VOTES ON NATIONAL POLL

The Roane State Volleyball team has started the season at 12-0 with a 2-0 conference record.  Their solid play has caught the eye of the NJCAA as they are receiving votes for the national poll. 

Of their 12 victories, they have defeated Wallace State-Hanceville in their classic as well as winning four matches at the Pensacola State Tournament over Labor Day Weekend. 

Emilia Hoppe and Solene Roussel lead the team with 91 and 78 kills.  Frida Heollger and Lily Yassu have chipped in with 59 and 52.  Haley Jenkins leads the team with 430 assists, averaging 10.75 assists a set on the season to go with 108 digs.  Keely Stilwill leads the squad in digs with 195.  Heollger and Yassu lead the team with 21 and 12 blocks on the season.

Defending Region VII Champ Walters State sits at 9-4 with a 1-0 conference record.  Maddie Rockrohr leads the Senators with 43 kills followed byHaylie Rihardson, Mattie Davis, and Alyssa Campbell with 34, 33, and 30 kills.  Allison singleton and Olivia Brown have 152 and 147 assists with Jaci Drinnon adding 63 on the year.  Drinnon leads the team with 228 digs followed by Lauren Mims with 112 and Rockrohr with 101.  

The two squads will meet on Tuesday, September 19, at Roane State at 6:30 p.m. EST.
