MOTLOW STATE WINS REGION VII WOMEN'S SOCCER, HEADED TO DISTRICT TOURNEY

The Motlow State women's soccer team repeated as the NJCAA Region VII champions on Thursday as they defeated Columbia State 1-0 in the championship game.  With the tournament win, the Bucks now will travel to the Region XXIV champion for the Central District tournament which will also include champions from Region 11 and 16.

The match continued the consistency of the two regular season meetings where Motlow won 1-0 in the first match while the second match ended in a 0-0 draw.  Following a scoreless first half, it took until the 77th minute before Camden Prosser found the back of the net on an assist from Alba Embid.  Motlow only had three shot on goal in the game while Columbia only had four shots.  Alina Arneth of Motlow recorded the shutout for the Bucks while Camryn Chambless of the Chargers had a solid game "between the pipes."
