MOTLOW EDGES SOUTH GEORGIA 1-0 IN DISTRICT; HEADS TO NATIONAL TOURNAMENT

The Lady Buck soccer team advanced to the NJCAA Women's Division I Soccer Championship in Evans (GA) next week.  Motlow saw their overall record increase to 16-3 with the win.

Alysa Benton scored the lone goal in the match at the 17:14 mark of the first half.  On a cool night in Winchester (TN), both squads had few shots on goal.  The Lady Bucks managed only seven shots on goal for the entire match while their opponents managed only five shots. 

With the win, the Lady Bucks were placed in Pool A of the championship bracket.  They are paired with the #1 seed tyler (TX) and the #8 Seed Barton (KS).  They will face Tyler on Sunday, March 13, at 10am EST.   They will then face Barton on Monday with the game time being 10am as well.  The winner of the pool will advance to the semifinals, starting on November 17.  Game time to be determined.

Tyler is ranked #1 in the national poll while Barton is ranked 15th in the poll.  Motlow holds down the #18 spot.
