MOTLOW TAKES NJCAA REGION VII CROWN

The Motlow State Lady Bucks won the NJCAA Region VII Soccer Championship Thursday night as they defeated Dyersburg State 4-0 at the Franklin County High School field in Winchester, Tennessee.  Both teams had advanced to the championship on Monday night as Motlow defeated Southwest Tennessee 7-0, and dyersburg upset Columbia by a 2-1 final.  With the win, Motlow advances to the Southeast District Championship on November 4 which will be hosted by the Lady Bucks.  Their opponent will be South Georgia State who won the NJCAA Region XVII championship over Georgia Military 3-0.  Game time and site are TBA.

In the championship game, Motlow took the lead for good in the nith minute of action as Ellie Kirk scored with an assist from Alysa Benton.  It would become the Kristen Gasaway how from that point.  She would score the final three goals for the Lady Bucks; completing the hat trick.  Her first two goals came in the first half of play as she would score in the 15th minute on an assist from Emily Fisher.  In the 28th minute, she would add another goal on an assist from Madisen Hodges.  Her final goal came in the 78th minute as she scored unassisted.

Motlow had 28 shots on goal for the match with Dyersburg's Carissa Carvella stopping 24 of those shots in some desired play in the net for the Lady Eagles.
