MOTLOW, DYERSBURG TO MEET FOR REGION CHAMPIONSHIP THURSDAY

The top seed Lady Bucks of Motlow State will host the Lady Eagles of Dyersburg State at 7pm CST at the Franklin County High School field for the 2022 NJCAA Region VII Women's Soccer Championship.  The Lady Bucks advanced with a 7-0 victory over Southwest Tennessee while the Lady Eagles moved with an exciting 2-1 triumph over Columbia State.

Motlow's win over Southwest Tennessee was their third of the season with all three being shutouts.  The Lady Bucks put up three goals in the first half with Aleis McMath scoring the first goal in the 16th minute of play.  Alysa Benton would follow less than two minutes late with a goal in the 18th minute of play.  Katherine Clark would add the third goal midway through the half.  Kristen Gasaway, Diana Ramirez, Benton, and Madisen Hodges would each score in a goal in the second half.

In the other semifinal, Columbia would take a 1-0 lead in the first half as Lythia Ramirez would score a goal right before the end of the first half.  Dyersburg's Baylee Miller would tie the score on a penalty kick in the 52nd minute of action.  Kate Steppe would provide the game winner in the 72nd minute of action as scored her goal on an assist from Jurni Montague.
