TCCAA NAMES ALL CONFERENCE TEAMS AND SPECIAL AWARD WINNERS

TCCAA announces 2024-25 Women's Basketball Awards, All-Conference Teams
The Tennessee Community College Athletic Association announced their women's basketball awards and all-conference teams for the 2024-25 season on Saturday during the TCCAA/Region 7 Basketball Tournament at Southwest Tennessee.
Columbia State's Ansley Burleson was named the TCCAA Player of the Year and Co-Offensive Player of the Year, while Walters State's Terryauna Griffin was named the TCCAA Freshman of the Year and Co-Offensive Player of the Year. Volunteer State's Kendall Myree was named the TCCAA Defensive Player of the Year, while Walters State's Jasmin Coleman was named the TCCAA Coach of the Year.
Burleson was named the Player of the Year and Co-Offensive Player of the Year after averaging 18 points per game. That point average was first in the conference, and Burleson was fifth in the conference averaging 8.4 rebounds per game. Burleson also led the conference in 3-pointers made with 64 and was fifth with 28 blocks. She recorded 57 steals, as well.
Burleson scored 30+ points in four games and 20+ points in 11 games. Burleson had nine double-doubles on the season, including an 11-point, 24 rebound game against Pellissippi State.
Griffin was named Freshman of the Year and Co-Offensive Player of the Year after a phenomenal freshman season. Griffin was second in the conference, averaging 17.5 points per game, and first in the conference with 170 made field goals. Griffin had 81 steals on the season and recorded 54 assists.
Griffin scored 20+ points in 10 games during the regular season, including a 32-point game against Jackson State, a 31-point game against Dyersburg State and a 30-point outburst against Southwest Tennessee.
The Defensive Player of the Year, Myree brought in 9.2 rebounds per game and totaled a whopping 138 blocks to lead the conference. Myree had 238 rebounds on the season and recorded double-digit rebounds in nine games. Myree's best game of the season on the defensive end came against Motlow State, when she recorded 11 rebounds and 10 blocks.
Coleman was named the Coach of the Year for the fourth time in her career. During the 2024-25 season, Coleman led Walters State to a 19-1 TCCAA record and a TCCAA Regular Season Title. Coleman's Lady Senators have been ranked for seven weeks this season. Coleman's teams pride themselves on defense, and the Lady Senators are first in the conference in opponent's field goal percentage per game at 32.4%.
Making All-TCCAA First Team were Columbia State's Burleson and Lily Melton, Walters State's Griffin and Kyra Perkins, Jackson State's Marihya Hart, Roane State's Layla Bouldin, Pellissippi State's Alice Meunier Conrad, Chattanooga State's Alicia Polk, Volunteer State's Myree, Dyersburg State's Alana Seals and Southwest Tennessee's Wynter Beck.
Making All-TCCAA Second Team were Southwest Tennessee's Jaliyah Zackery, Cleveland State's Mar'Nazha Houston and Maiya Moore, Columbia State's Jacie Scott, Dyersburg State's Sariyah Williams and Lily Bennett, Chattanooga State's Livia O'Dea and Kimora Currie, Pellissippi State's Autumn Crick and Maria Braga, Jackson State's Tamyra Patterson and Motlow State's Malay Mitchell.
