CHATT STATE CAN'T OVERCOME COCHISE; FALL 72-43 IN OPENING ROUND

The Lady Tigers tasted defeat for only the second time this season as Cochise College ended their season by a 72-43 setback in the first round of NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament.

Cochise would take control of the game early in the first half, and the Lady tigers were never able to get themselves back in the game as the opponents would race out to a 23-8 lead by the end of the first quarter.  The Lady Tigers would compete in the second quarter to trail 36-19 at the halftime break.  Chattanooga was never able to sustain any type of comeback as Cochise outscored the Lady Tigers 36-24 in the second twenty minutes.

Tamyra Carter was the only Lady Tiger to reach double figures as she had ten points.  Alivia Reel would come off the bench to total nine points in the game.  Silkiari Vazquez-Troche would add eight points and a team high three assists.  Jordan Harris would have seven points to go with a team high nine rebounds for the Lady Tigers.

Chattanooga State would end the season with a 31-2 record overall.
