CHATTANOOGA CLAIMS WOMEN'S TITLE OVER DYERSBURG

The Lady Tigers of Chattanooga State used a strong second half to pull away from the Lady Eagles of Dyersburg State to claim the NJCAA Region VII championship by an 85-59 final.

Chattanooga had 3 scorers reach double figures led by Melisa Carter with 25 points to go with 11 rebounds.  Tournament MVP Naja Fenelon chipped in with 23 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.  Shaquala Walton had 15 points to go with a team 14 rebounds.  Gla'mia Letcheralso had double digit in rebounds with 12 boards.  

Dyersburg had two scorers in double figures with Kira Lowery leading the way with 20 points and a team high three assists.  Morgan Terry had 14 points to go with six rebounds.  Sinetra Jones led the way for the Lady Eagles with seven boards.

Chattanooga will now await word on their seeding for the NJCAA Women's National Tournament which runs March 17-21 at the Rip Griffin Center on the campus of Lubbock Christian in Lubbock, TX.
