CHATTANOOGA, DYERSBURG TO PLAY FOR WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP

Dyersburg State upset top seed Walters State 75-67 and then Chattanooga State defeated Cleveland State 68-59 to set up the championship game matchup Monday afternoon.  

The Lady Eagles used a strong first half to put the Lady Senators on notice.  They built it to a double digit early in the second half, and held on for the upset win.  Dyersburg had two players reach double figures with Amaria Pugh leading the way with 24 points.  She was supported by Kira Lowery who finished with 18 points.  Sinetra Jones led the way with six rebounds and Lowery dished out eight assists.  Walters was led by Jamya Rogers with 23 points.  Paris Mullins and Haley Comer each reached double figures with 17 and 11 points, respectively.  Mullins had 13 rebounds and Rogers had 10 as each posted a double double.  Alexis Trice led with three assists.

In Chattanooga's win, they placed three scorers in double figures led by Shaquala Walton with 17 points.  Melisa Carter and Naja Fenelon each scored 16 points in victory.  Carter led the team with nine rebounds while Michelle Smith had two assists.  Cleveland State was led by Charisma Barner with 22 points and Asjah Harrell with 15 points in the loss.  Barner registered a double double with ten rebounds while harrell led with three assists.
