THREE TEAMS UNBEATEN GOING INTO WEEK 3 OF CONFERENCE; JACKSON'S AKINS WAS PLAYER OF WEEK

As conference play enters the third week of competition; Walters, Jackson, and Cleveland all have unblemished records in conference play.  Walters sits at the top with a 4-0 record while both Jackson and Cleveland are 3-0.  The top three will see a shaeup this weeks as Cleveland will travel to Walters on Wednesday, and then host Jackson on Saturday.  Jackson will Southwest Tennessee on Wedesday before their trip east.  Walters will play at Volunteer on Saturday.  

Three more teams sit behind with 2-2 records as Dyersburg, Southwest Tennessee, and Roane share the 4th through sixth spot in the standings.  Chattanooga and Motlow each have secured one conference win while Volunteer and Columbia still sit winless on the new season.  Dyersburg will play at Roane in a single conference game this week for both squads.  Sothwest Tennessee will host Motlow on Saturday.  Chattanooga will travel to Motlow midweek and then host Columbia on the weekend.  

For the second week of conference play, Jackson's Alexis Akins was named the Player of the Week.  For the week, she averaged 25 points in two games with 2.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2 steals.  In the conference win over Chattanooga, she 26 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and three steals.
