LADY IGERS FINISH 4TH AT NATIONAL TOURNAMENT

Chattanooga saw their season come to an end on Friday as they fell short in their quest of a national title as they fell to Florida Southwestern in an elimination game by a 7-6 final.  The Lady Tigers finished a in fourth place with an overall record of 56-10.

Florida Southwestern would buuild a 7-1 lead after four innings of play.  Chattanooga's lone socre came in the first when Camryn Cernuto scored on an Ashlyn Holland single to right field.  They would get within one run in the fifth inning as Taylor Penning and Marquila Howell would score on a couple errors on a infield grounder by Camryn Cernuto to lead off the inning.  Cernuto and Amber Gainer would each score as Holland homered (her fourth of the tournament).  That would be all the Lady Tigers could muster as they had only a single in their last two innings at the plate.

Chattanooga managed only six hits in the game with Holland leading with the single and home run for four RBIs.  Samantha ryan would take the loss as she went 2 1/3 innings of work.  She gave up four runs (two earned) on six hits and 3 walks with one strikeout.  Adyson slaybeck and Olivia smith came on in relief.  In their 3 1/3 innings, they gave up three earned runs on 4 hits with two walks and no strikeouts.
