ROANE STATE WINS REGION VII AND SOUTHEAST DISTRICT GOLF; CLEVELAND'S KREUGER MEDALIST
The NJCAA D2 Southeastern Golf Championship was held this week at The Golf Club of Bristol. Roane State Raider golf secured the chmpionship with a three round total of 847 (-5). They also earned the NJCAA Region VII Championship. Walters State finished at 861 (+9) to be the runnerup. Cleveland State finished at 864 (+12) to finished in third place. Cleveland State's Owen Kreuger was the medalist for the tournament as he posted a 6 under score of 207 for the three rounds.
All three squads have qualified for the NJCAA DII Men's Golf Championship to be held at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club in Joplin (MO) from May 21-24.
Roane posted team rounds of 288-275-284-847. Caleb Tipton shot a -4 (209) for the Raiders' best score. Kieran McCarthy was next at -2 (211). Seth Robinette followed with a 214 (+1). Louie Stott was next at 217 (+4). Eric Loftis played the first and third round and was +6 (148). Colby Johnson played the second round and carded a 74 (+3).
Walters posted team rounds of 282-283-296-861. Bowen Brantley and Sloan Brooks led the way as they posted three round score of 214 (+1). Nick Talley was next with a score of 216 (+3). Ian Kinsey finished one stroke back at 217. Jack Leach rounded out the individuals for the Senators with a 227 (+14).
Cleveland posted a three round aggregate of 288-293-283-864. Kreuger led the way his medalist performance. Reece McFatter was next with 212 (-1). Kadyn Copeland followed with a 222 (+9). Logan Gadd carded a 226 (+13). Andrew McCarver posted a 233 (+20) to round out the scoring for the Cougars.
The TCCAA had ten of the top 12 scores. All ten were named to the Southeastern All Tournament team. For official scoring you can follow this link, click here.
