SENATORS EARN #17 SEED FOR NATIONAL TOURNAMENT; FACE DAYTONA STATE IN 1ST ROUND

The NJCAA announced the bracket for this years Division I National Tournament and the Walters Senators were anounced as the #17 seed in the tournament and will face Daytona State (the #16 seed) in the first game of the tournament.  The tournament will begin on March 24th at the Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson (KS).  The Senators will play at 11a.m. EDT.

Walters currently stands at 28-2 on the season and is ranked 21st in the latest NJCAA national poll.  Daytona State is currently ranked #8 in the same poll with a 28-3 overall record.  The Senators claimed their spot in the tournament as the automatic qualifier from REgion VII while Daytone State secured one of the eight at-large bids.

The winner of the contest will move on to face the #1 team in the tournament in Barton Communtiy College from Kansas.  Barton currently has a 32-1 overall record.
