COLUMBIA STATE EARNS 2020 NJCAA REGION VII TITLE

Columbia State found itself down 18 points after twenty minutes of play, but fought back and a Jayden Lockett three pointer at the end of regulation forced an overtime frame where the Chargers prevailed byn 81-73 final.  

Lockett, the tournament's Most Valuable Player, led Columbia with 19 points and three steals.  Three other Chargers reached double figures in the contest.  Jonathon Bolden recorded a double double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.  Gene Holmes was next with twelve points while Jamari Bostic also recorded a double double with 11 points and a team high 13 boards. 

The Generals also had four scorers in double figures led by Kavion Hancock with 21 points.  Radarious Washington had a double double with 18 points and a game high 15 rebounds.  Antwan Beans and Javion Hannah each finished with 13 points with Beans dishing out six assists.

The Chargers will wait to see where will be seeded in the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, KS.  The tournament will start on March 16 and run through March 21.
