LAST SECOND SHOT AND UPSET HIGHLIGHT MEN'S PLAYIN GAMES
Darius Harding connected on his only three pointer of the contest with seven second to play to give the Bucks a 68-65 win over Cleveland State in the first of two play in games in the 2020 NJCAA Region VII Tournament Friday afternoon. In the othe rplayu in game, the #10 seed volunteer State Pioneers avenged two regular season losses as the defeated the Chattanooga State Tigers 83-71 to adsvance to the next round.
In the opening contest, it was Harding leading the Bucks with 19 points to go with 9 rebounds. Derrick Rayford finished wiht 18 points while Jace Wallace finished with 17 points and a team high 14 rebounds. Jakobey Hitchens was the only Cleveland State player in double figures with 26 points with nine rebounds. Jaquez Hicks finished wiht a team high 11 rebounds.
In the Volunteer win, Zack Morris was the leading scorer with 23 points. Taras Carter was a boost of the bench with 17 while Austin Fisher and Justin Goodson each finished with 12 points. George Roberson had a team high nine rebounds. For Chattanooga, Richard Nunez finsihed with 21 points and 16 rebounds. Everette Wilson and Lorenzo Ferrell each finished in double digits with 15 and 13 points.
