TCCAA Announces Baseball ALL CONFERENCE First and Second Teams; Special Awards

The Tennessee Community College Athletic Association released their Baseball Conference Award Winners on Friday, along with their All-Conference Teams. 


For award winners, Southwest's Tyler Harrington was named the TCCAA Player of the Year. Harrington's teammate, Colton Brumley was named TCCAA Pitcher of the Year. Rounding out the awards was Walters State's Dave Shelton as Coach of the Year. 


Harrington was named Player of the Year after a phenomenal season at third base. Harrington hit .445 on the season in 182 at-bats, mashing 11 homers and driving in 69 runs. He had a .500 OBP and stole 12 bases. 


Harrington was first in the conference in batting average and second in RBIs.


On the mound, Brumley was the only pitcher in the conference with double digit wins. For the season, Brumley went 12-2 and struck out 120 batters in 86.2 innings. He finished with an ERA of 4.05.


Brumley was first in the conference in wins and strikeouts. 


Rounding out the awards was Shelton as Coach of the Year. It's the fifth time Shelton has received the honor. Shelton earned the honor after leading the Senators to a 48-8 record and to the TCCAA regular season title. The Senators were ranked No. 1 in the country for multiple weeks and were a perfect 29-0 at home. Walters State is second in the country in home runs and RBIs. 


On First Team All-TCCAA were Walters State's Corbin Shaw at first base, Walters State's Cooper Torres at second base, Walters State's Kurtis Reid at shortstop, Walters State's Deniel Ortiz at third base, Volunteer State's Jake Mizell, Dyersburg State's Andy Martin and Chattanooga State's Scott Campbell in the outfield, Walters State's Cole McCallum at DH, Walters State's Jarrett Martin catching, Dyersburg State's Anthony Figueroa and Connor Burt, Chattanooga State's Charlie Smith and Cleveland State's Cooper Casteel as the starting pitchers and Preston Martinez as the lone relief pitcher. 


On Second Team All-TCCAA were Volunteer State's Landon Godsey at first base, Columbia State's Jaxon Diamond at second base, Columbia State's Charlie Davis at third base, Cleveland State's Rhett Hammontree at shortstop, Walters State's Kruise Newman and Caleb Marmo and Jackson State's Garrett Byrd in the outfield, Southwest's Bryce Turner at DH, Chattanooga State's Owen Brock and Motlow State's Jackson Cauthron catching, Walters State's Landon Crumbley and Brayden Matthews, Chattanooga State's Matthew Gist and Volunteer State's Parker White as the starting pitchers and Walters State's Karson Bonaparte as the lone relief pitcher.
