BASEBALL SET TO BEGIN THIS WEEKEND; WALTERS, DYERSBURG PRESEASON RANKED

With January coming to a close, baseball season officially kicks off this weekend as four conference teams will make their season debut.  

Walters State and Dyersburg State granered votes in the NJCAA Division I Baseball Preseason Poll.  The Senators were voted #2 right behind defending national champion Central Arizona with 152 votes from around the country.  The Eagles took the #16 spot in the poll with 40 votes.

Both teams met in last year's NJCAA Region VII/TCCAA Tournament won by the Senators.  the Senators went on to represent well in Grand Junction (CO) as they finished 3rd in the nation.

Conferencce play is set to begin at the start of March with the regular season culminating the last weekend of April.  The region tournament will be held at Volunteer State Community College this season
