PELLISSIPPI'S MORTON WINS NJCAA MEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND TIME

Pellisippi State's Jarek Morton was recognized as the NJCAA Men's Cross/Country/Half Marathon Dvision II Runner of the Week for the week ending October 3rd.  Morton is a freshman on the Panther's inaugural season for men's cross country.  He was also the Men's Runner of the Week back at the end of August.

He earned the recognition after winning the Maryville College XC Invitational 8K event with a time of 27:38.8 with an average mile time of 5:33.7.  He finished over 30 seconds ahead of the runner-up runner from Tennessee Running club and was almost 50 seconds ahead of the closest collegiate runner in fellow TCCAA runner Brando Resendiz of Walters State.
